Alignment Yoga Series

Jennifer teaches a variety of yoga classes that are designed to be a well rounded approach to yoga. Class is very appropriate for beginner yoga students as well as more seasoned practitioners. Each class focuses on a different area of the body as well as specific techniques and practices to enhance body awareness leading to more ease, healing of injuries, and advancement in the poses.

Each class generally begins with a long sequence on the floor where we focus on a series of movements called SATYA (sensory awareness training for yoga attunement). These movements use gentle, fluid, sliding and gliding actions which invite the body to release into gravity and unwind habitual strain patterns.  From there we work on standing alignment poses that help build strength and then we close our practice with gentle supported restorative poses that establish a calm nervous system, and deep nourishment in the tissue and joints. Meditation and various breathing techniques are introduced during class and there is also the opportunity to ask questions and address issues and injuries specific to your body.
