Mindful Movement & Meditation Day Retreat

Join us for a special day of practice and study.
These extended classes allow for an immersive experience, progressive sequencing, and individual attention. Classes are restorative, dynamic, and therapeutic, emphasizing ease, strength, and mindful awareness. We’ll begin each session with a short talk and then transition into a meditation and movement practice.
Practices are suitable for all students and levels, including seasoned practitioners and those with limited mobility or flexibility.
Class Details
9:30am – 12pm – Breath, Energy, Flow
This practice gently explores the ribs, lungs, and psoas as essential areas for the circulation of prana (life force). We begin on the floor with slow, therapeutic somatic movements designed to refine awareness of your diaphragm and unique “breath print”. The diaphragm marks a powerful transition between the lower body and the more refined upper body—physically, energetically, and perceptually—and is often an area where stress and shock get stuck. As the practice unfolds, we gradually and deliberately move toward standing postures before transitioning into the more subtle practices of pranayama and meditation.
12pm – 1:30 pm – Lunch break
1:30pm – 3:30pm – Nourishing the Upper Gates
The ancient yogis viewed the senses as gateways into the cranium and deeper realms of awareness. This class uses gentle somatic movement, yin yoga and restorative yoga to unwind the shoulders, jaw, and neck. These regions are deeply interconnected and often hold tension from computer use, postural habits, unexpressed emotion, and sustained stress—tension that can dull the circulation of vital energy and create strain both on and off the mat. As the practice becomes more subtle and inward, we aim to calm the senses and attune to the space of the pituitary and pineal glands, inviting clarity and a quiet inner perception.

This day retreat is $100 CAD + 5% tax. This includes all fees and both classes.
A single class is $55 + 5% tax. (If you can only attend a single class, please email us at support@jenniferraye.com to confirm.

Prices are per person and in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Please note: If you need to cancel your registration, you will be fully refunded minus a $50 non-refundable deposit. There are no refunds for cancellations less than 30 days before the event.

As a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, an experienced E-RYT500 yoga and meditation teacher, and a published mindfulness author, Jennifer Raye offers practices that are integrative, therapeutic, and focused on the individual needs of students.
With over 18 years of experience in holistic health, she draws on in-depth, long-term studies of anatomy, bodywork, therapeutic movement, Buddhist contemplative practices, Chinese Medicine, and Ayurveda. Her offerings blend physical yoga postures with spiritual, philosophical, energetic, and anatomical teachings, encouraging depth, self-reflection, and holistic well-being. Full Bio.
