15 Minute S.A.T.Y.A Yoga Practice

satya yoga practice jennifer raye

This short and sweet class introduces a few foundational somatic movements. These therapeutic movements are done on the floor and are designed to create structural integration and somatic awareness.

During S.A.T.Y.A., slow sliding/gliding movements help the breath to flow, the diaphragm to release, and revitalize the energy body. The slower, mindful nature of the practice also supports awareness by giving space and time to sense and feel the more subtle aspects of body, mind, and heart.

S.A.T.Y.A. was created by Tias Little at Prajna Yoga and is influenced by many traditions, including Thomas Hanna Somatics and Moshé Feldenkrais.

As you practice, aim to pay attention to the ripple of breath, the pulse of blood, and any other sensations you feel. I hope you enjoy!
